…ise cancelling quality above, but that’s because they remain perfectly serviceable in both regards. They’re not the best on the market in either area, but that’s fine — they get everything else just about right, and the Apple ecosystem gets AirPods Max out of any potential trouble.

I have been using my Sony XM3 for about three years now but when I put on the AirPods Max in a crowded Apple Store, I was blown away by its ANC. The earcups are really tight around your ears on the AirPods compared to the leather cushions on Sonys.
